Totally Tubular | Surf culture lingo for cool or awesome, derived from catching a wave and getting in the tube |

The Totally Tubular vase range forms our Postcard from Cornwall series. The name, Totally Tubular, comes from surfer slang for the joy of catching the crest of a rolling wave which is reflected in our lyrical, fluid shapes. Our Totally Tubular vases are flowing, twisted, and tubular. These vases are sculptural and functional, hand made from recycled paper mache/ paper clay and with Jesmonite eco-resin. The paper clay tubular structures house removable glass test tubes which form the waterproof element to the vase. We juxtapose the textured paper clay surface that celebrates the imprint of the hand, against the cool smoothness and refinement of the cast Jesmonite eco-resin base.

We make by hand collectable contemporary homewares in paper mache /paper clay and with Jesmonite which is an eco-resin. We use sustainable eco-friendly materials and use a circular design process by giving back value to humble recyclable materials that is intuitive and direct. Our modern eco-designs have a simple graphic aesthetic and a pop of colour. These two vases are in a sunny day yellow and a deep rock black and create an unusual, contemporary, statement piece.  We often design pieces that work well in pairs as we enjoy creating a dialogue between the two forms. 

The paper mache /paper clay tubes look like extruded clay but are lightweight and robust. The Jesmonite eco resin dome is sturdy and creates a weighted base.  The glass test tubes can be removed to be washed and cleaned. The paper mache/ paper clay has been coated with a matt seal and can be given a light wipe with a damp cloth to clean.
